North Coast Family Medical Centre, home of Dr Kevin Pillay, is a general medical practice, situated in the heart of Verulam, north of Durban.

We focus on patient centered medical approaches and help rehabilitate our patients back into everyday life, no matter what the ailment. This practice has an interest in helping its community and surrounding areas, of any age and ethnicity, thrive in any challenging environment.

Each patient receives a comprehensive physical and psychological examination. A thorough analysis of all ailments, explanations and discussions into why and what is happening to the patient. A management plan is developed with each patient, which can include crisis intervention, psychologist support and medication where required.

Welcome to North Coast Family Medical Centre. I am Dr Kevin Pillay. When I am not at work you will find me at home with my family. I am a husband to Viantha (one of our practice managers) and father to two busy body children, Mia and Mason. I completed my MBCHB at Walter Sisulu in the Eastern Cape and qualified in 2004. I completed my internship training in Mthatha and Bloemfontein. I further specialized in Cardio Thoracic surgery thereafter psychiatry and obtained my post graduate diploma in Mental Health (DMH). I then joined my dad and opened North Coast Family Medical Centre in 2008. It is a family run practice, where we tailor our services to our patients every needs, regardless of their socio-economic status. Our aim was to provide our community with affordable, good quality medical and surgical care. I have been practicing for 18 years and my passion for helping and healing patients continues to grow.

Some of my latest qualifications included becoming an Associate Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and in 2022 I completed my CDE, in Diabetes. My special interests include Substance Abuse and Rehabilitation, Aesthetic medicine, and Infertility treatments.

I am passionate about medicine and pride myself on meticulously executing patients diagnosis and treatment. I work from a stance of care and compassion, and take my patients every need into consideration. Our practice is innovative and continuously upgrade our medical equipment with the latest technologies.

I Nadarajan Pillay am the founder of NCFMC. I am a trained clinician and have been in practice for approximately 50yrs. I have an undergraduate degree in medicine and surgery and a postgraduate residency program in the USA in OB-GYN. I thrive on seeing patients, making a diagnosis and treating patients. My personal interests include my family, reading and gardening.

I specialize in medical billing and managing the doctors calendar. I am a powerful force in the workplace and use my positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others in the practice to work hard and succeed. I enjoy the challenging roles that are presented to me on a daily basis.

I am a nursing assistant at North coast family medical Centre, I work alongside Jenine and together we assist the doctors in administering treatments to our patients. I started working in the practice in 2020 and have gained vast knowledge in theatre cases such as endoscopes, colonoscopies and minor theatre procedures, along side our experienced doctors who perform the procedures. I love my job because I am a healthcare worker and helping people is a passion of mine. Patients well being and comfort is my number one responsibility at the surgery.

My name is Jerzel Alwar and I have worked at North Coast Family Medical Centre for a year now . I work alongside Dr Kevin Pillay as a nursing assistant. I work with patients and their families and have the opportunity to help heal their mind and body. They may forget my name but they never forget how we made them feel. My daily duties at the practice involves assisting the doctors with surgical procedures and ensuring the patients received the best possible treatment. I take pride in helping our patients, and in everything I do.

I am Stephanie Allison Pillay, working at NCFMC from its formation in December 2007. I have been an assistant to the doctors, nurses and receptionists in their treatment of patients / an assistant practice manager. I have an international diploma in Aesthetics and Cosmetology and an undergraduate B.LLB law degree. My passion and values include my family and hard work.

I started working at Ncfmc in 2010, after meeting my then fiancé, Dr Kevin Pillay. Fast forward a decade and our surgery has grown. And our reputation with patients surpassed our expectations. Even though the surgery can get crazy and busy during peak times I find it is extremely important to teach my staff to be patient, compassionate and caring. I help manage the practice and staff, helping patients, overseeing the medical aid accounts, and liaising with patients and staff. Dr Kevin has a great report with his patients, and I like to make sure our patients walk out of the surgery happy and satisfied with the service they received.

Hi we are your friendly front desk staff at NCFMC, our service at the practice spans over 5+years. Our duties include operating the switch board, liaising with different medical schemes, chronic medicine management and registration, assisting walk in patients, general administration. We are privileged to work with an amazing team under the supervision of exceptional doctors, who work tirelessly and effortlessly to ensure the patients’ healthcare is always a priority. We have a very special relationships with each of our patients. Together we ensure all our patients are taken care of. Our aim is to always ensure positive and satisfied customer service at the end of our patients' treatment.
